Artist's Manifesto<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

I've always been more drawn to colour than form. That's why I experiment with geometric shapes or with non-existent landscapes, where the study of colours and their mixture predominates over the figure they aim to represent. Perhaps it will surprise no one that, having said this, some of my reference painters are Rothko and Pollock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lately, I tend to use only two or three planes in the composition to further highlight the importance of colours. My favourite colour is red. Also the entire range of yellows and ochres. On the other hand, beaches are a recurring theme in my work as they usually consist of those three planes I mentioned above: sky, sea, sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only have I painted Beaches and landscapes<\/a>, I have also dedicated myself to researching pure abstract compositions. I call it Abstract Expressionism<\/a> and I have a very extensive series in which squares predominate in different sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work almost exclusively with acrylic paint on cotton canvas or Canson paper. I also paint on pine or birch wood panels. Most of my works do not exceed two metres in length, with 81 x 65cm being the most common size for vertical pieces, or 93 x 72cm for landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My work has been exhibited nationally and at the New York Expo in 2007. It is also part of private collections worldwide, particularly in the United States, Mexico, and Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
